Hosting the EAARFC

The Advertising Rugby International every second year and offers an interesting 'out-of-season' financial opportunity to our host clubs.

We would like to play outside London more often and have had outstandingly successful weekends in Rugby (2000), Cambridge (2007) and Aylesford/Tunbridge Wells (2009).

Our mid-June date (necessary due to the longer French season) normally means we don't conflict with any other rugby events and the requirements for the location are: -

• Superb playing/clubhouse facilities.
• Ideally within one hour's travel of the French arrival point (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted or City airports or any other airport with direct flights to/from Paris, alternatively Ashford, Ebbsfleet or St Pancras stations.)
• Dinner venue, for 120 (approx).
• Welcoming large nightclub nearby.
• Low-cost hotel accommodation for around 100 people (approx 45 twins, 10 singles).
• Sunday activities/lunch for 70 (approx).

As you can see, there is a lot of fun around, as well as some serious rugby, and it is one of the best weekends of the year, home or away. Any club interested in hosting a future advertising rugby weekend (2011, 2013) should make contact by email and we'll take it from there.
